Welcome to the AccuQuilt and Lumin Fabrics May blog hop featuring the Irish Chain fabric cutting die. The square finishes at 10" and there are free downloads and block assembly instructions on the AccuQuilt website. I received the Spooktacular fabric bundle designed by Jerry Khiev, which is a fun and spooky bundle of Halloween fabric. I designed a sample quilt in Electric Quilt based on the colors in the fabric bundle, using the 2-color Irish Chain Quilt Block. I added Island Batik Foundation solids purple and orange; a yellow and orange dot batik and Dashes - Salt and Pepper BE40-E1.

I sub-cut my fabric and then put it through the machine using the Irish Chain die. I did fussy cut the keystone blocks.

I put all of the shapes onto my design wall, including the sashing (2-1/2" x 10-1/2") and keystone squares (2-1/2" x 2-1/2"). I used my Oliso iron, Schmetz needles and Aurifil thread for the piecing.

After the twenty-five blocks were assembled, I sewed the five rows together and the four rows of sashing and keystone blocks. The quilt finishes at 58-1/2" x 58-1/2". My Not-So-Spooky Halloween quilt was longarmed using Hobbs batting by Carol Bean of Paradise Stitches LLC in Columbia Falls, Montana. I finished off my quilt with a dark purple binding.

This was a fun challenge with a great bundle of Island Batik Halloween fabrics! Don't forget to check out the other Island Batik Ambassadors Irish Chain quilts this month, because they are magnificent. Head on over to the Island Batik blog to enter a chance to win a bundle of Spooktacular!
As an Island Batik Brand Ambassador, I receive fabrics and sewing notions from Island Batik and their corporate sponsors (Oliso, Schmetz, Aurifil, Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Designs, Hobbs Batting, Accu-Quilt, Funky Friends Factory, By-Annie and Lumin Fabrics).

Beautiful Susan! As someone else commented, Halloween fabrics are not "my thing", but your quilt is beautiful!
